Cariaggi. Translating cashmere, movement, and softness into exhibition space at Pitti Filati.
Cariaggi works with one of the most refined materials in the textile world, but the challenge at Pitti Filati was not only how to show cashmere as a product. It was how to give it a more physical, emotional, and contemporary presence in space.
The starting point came from movement. Instead of presenting cashmere as a static material, the project used bodies, gesture, and light to reveal softness, flexibility, and tactility in a more direct and sensory way.
Rack translated that same language into the exhibition space, where booth and moving image were conceived as one connected experience. The goal was not to separate product, atmosphere, and presentation, but to let them work together as one coherent environment.
The booth was built with natural fabrics and rounded forms, echoing the softness and fluid movement expressed in the visual direction. This helped the space feel less like a standard fair display and more like a physical extension of the material itself.
Soft light and restrained contrast kept the focus on texture, form, and bodily interaction. Rather than adding noise, the installation reduced the visual language to what was essential, allowing cashmere to feel calm, light, and alive.
What made the project especially valuable was the continuity between image and space. The physical environment did not simply host the content, but carried the same material logic and emotional tone into the fair context.
For Rack, the project remains a strong example of how exhibition space can help a material speak through atmosphere, movement, and form, turning product presentation into a more immersive and memorable experience. At Pitti Filati, the result was a booth that went beyond display, giving visitors a more direct sense of how cashmere could be felt, not only seen.
